On-Line Predictive Dianostics
for Electrical Equipment

Mr. Zalya Berler, General Manager of Cutler-Hammer Predictive Diagnostics group will present “On-Line Predictive Diagnostics for Medium and High-Voltage Electrical Equipment.”

Cutler-Hammer Predictive Diagnostics group CHPD (formerly known as IPDD) offers non-destructive testing technologies and sensors to assess the condition of medium and high-voltage electrical equipment.  Implementation of Cutler-Hammer Predictive Diagnostics allows you to diagnose your critical equipment, to reduce the risk of failure and increase its uptime.  Available Predictive Diagnostics currently include:

Partial Discharge Monitoring – detects insulation deterioration and reveals developing problems, utilizing an on-line test performed while the equipment is operating.

Vibro-Acoustic Analysis – detects conditions that lead to accelerated insulation aging due to vibration, utilizing an on-line/off-line test performed while the equipment is operating.

Transformer Monitoring System – detects bushing insulation degradation to prevent transformer failure, utilizing an on-line test performed while the equipment is operating.

Valuable information about equipment condition allows optimal and timely Predictive Maintenance actions to prevent insulation breakdown and equipment failure at a low cost (as part of RCM – Reliability Centered Maintenance program).  CHPD papers on these subjects have been presented at IEEE, EPRI, CIGRE and Doble Conferences.

Zalya Berler is a 1973 graduate of Leningrad University with a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering.  He has over 26 years experience in the industry.  He was the owner and President of IPDD Inc. prior to its acquisition by Cutler-Hammer in 1998.  Zalya is a member of IEEE and CIGRE, and has published over 10 papers and has been the presenter at many technical conferences.  This is an area of application of great interest and has potential impact to your bottom line!
