The Chairman's Last Message -----------

Kenny Mercado

Wow what a year!  This is my last month to serve as your local Chairman and it is amazing for me to remember all the joys of the year.  Throughout our extremely busy year at the office, IEEE has offered so much reward to support my professional career.

Thanks go out to so many bright stars that I have associated with:  Justo Benitez, Reggie Comfort, Donald Dunn, and Karen Barrett have helped me lead our 40 person Executive Committee.  we have worked together in managing sixteen meetings, supporting issues, and ensuring the section's movement into the next millennium

There are so many highlights:

  1. Roy Cosse' and his staff of volunteers providing our membership with another excellent Continuing Education on Demand program.

  2. Peri Ktonas, Sunita Kulkarni, and Ernst Leiss leadership in offering continuous technical training in Medicine and Biology, Industry Applications, and Computers, respectively

  3. Dwayne Lowry for all the time he has given to build a powerful new Web Site at http:/www.nanocorp.com/ieee-houston.

  4. Ray Schmidt and Dr. Kumar Krishan in their leadership of the successful Vehicluar Technology Conference held during the summer.

  5. Other honorable mention include P.J. Donner for arranging meetings, Jonna Schuler for issuing eight Pocket Scopes, and Paul Bennett for supporting activities with awards.

Don't let me forget to thank you for being a part of our team as well.  To celebrate our last meeting, December 2 will be a special family night led by Dr. Hudson with his wonderful physics experiments.  Your kids will love it!  Call 713-207-IEEE right now and make your reservations.

This month's program features Dr. Hudson
with his wonderful physics experiments!!

Happy Holidays
I hope all is well for Everyone.
