RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
This position is responsible to design, develop, document, and verify products.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

  • Apply electrical engineering knowledge to the design and development of new products as well as product changes and enhancements.
  • Solve electrical engineering problems at the component through system level.
  • Conduct testing utilizing existing test protocols or develop new ones as needed.
  • Generate written protocols and reports.
  • Assign work to technicians and temporary workers as needed.
  • Complete projects (including product enhancements) in a manner consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company via invention and patent applications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies in addition to medical, technical, and biomedical developments related to company products.
  • Provide electrical engineering and technical support of products introduced into both the domestic and international markets as well as physician in service programs.
  • Oversee outside vendors and consultants as required.
  • Maintain GMP systems, including pre-production quality assurance procedures, pre- clinical testing programs, and post production GMP compliance in coordination with the Document Control, Clinical, and Quality Assurance functions.
  • Provide electrical engineering support in the resolution of product complaints and/or safety issues.
  • Work with other engineering, manufacturing, clinical affairs, sales and marketing, and quality assurance staff to coordinate pilot production of new products.
  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, Quality System Regulations, and FDA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as may be required by supervisor.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require business travel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSEE
  • Exposure to design of low power products for medical applications • CAD for electronic design • MS Office Suite

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Analog Circuit Design

  • Discrete circuit design (I/O buffers, switches, filtering) • DC/DC converters • Receive and transmit circuits for Magnetically coupled communication systems up to 120KHz • Mixed signal (Knowledge of ADCs and basic sampling theory) • Schematic CAD tools (preferably OrCAD) • Spice Based simulation • Laboratory o Ability to test and troubleshoot designs at various stages of completion o Experience with O'scopes, signal generators, multimeters, spectrum analyzers • Signal Processing (TI based processors a plus) • Layout CAD tools (OrCAD based tools a plus) • Knowledge of Bluetooth, WLAN, and other Wireless technologies • Basic understanding of Assembly and C language
