The
December 5, 2002 Section Meeting will be our last for this year.
Our speaker will be Rick Petersen a Senior Business Development
Consultant for Intergraph Corporation and he will give a
presentation on “Enter a New Era in
Electrical Engineering”.
The
Executive Committee of the Houston Section traveled to Washington
D.C. representing our section at the 2002 Section Congress this past
October. Every three years the regional activities board (RAB)
holds a conference for all sections within the IEEE.
Representatives from countries from around the world network and
exchange ideals on section best practices. Representatives attend
training sessions, tutorials and panel discussions on section
activities during the conference. For more information about
Section Congress 2002 visit the following website:

The section Excom members had the opportunity to learn from section
leadership throughout the world on section best practices. We were
also invited to conduct a tutorial in the membership development
track on “Senior Member Elevations”. The Houston Section lead
Region 5 in 2001 with the largest number on new senior members.
