On behalf of the Executive Committee,
I want to extend our congratulations to three individuals from the
Houston Section who were elected to the IEEE Grade of Fellow
(Richard G. Baraniuk, Andrew Kwokshing Chan, and John Edwin Propst).
As it stands today, the IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the
Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of
accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. A brief
citation is issued to new Fellows describing their accomplishments
and the total number selected in any one year does not exceed
one-tenth percent of the total voting Institute membership.
In addition, on behalf of the
Executive Committee, I want to extend our congratulations to several
individuals from the Houston Section who were elected to the IEEE
Senior Member Grade (Hualou Liang, D. Wayne Madden, Daleep Mohla,
Wissam Rabadi, Nicolaos B. Karayiannis, Jay R. Porter, and David
Rice).
We had the privilege to have Mr.
Ray Miller as our speaker for the December meeting. For those
members that were unable to attend, I hope you have the opportunity
to here Mr. Miller speak in the future. He covers diverse topics on
Texas History that are very captivating and the subject covered at
this months meeting was excellent.
